Jonesboro- Orval Ray McKisson, 86, Passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born August 26, 1927 in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late Theron Thomas McKisson and Ethel Mae Beight McKisson. He was a retired electrical contractor and owner and founder of Arc Electric Company in Jonesboro for 25 years and he also retired from the Southwestern Power Company after 10 years of service. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. He loved to work and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by a son, Bill McKisson and his wife Sandy; two daughters, Aelisa Darling and husband Rex and Regina McKisson all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Madison McKisson, Garrett McKisson and Holly Darling all of Jonesboro; Brian Darling and wife Susan of Centerton and Christie Gordon and husband Garrett of McKinney, Texas; brothers, James McKisson of Linton, Indiana and John McKisson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Sisters, Audrey Daniels of Beaumont, Texas, Ruth McKisson of Fenton, Missouri, Joann McKisson of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Mary Edith McKisson of Coldwell, Texas; nine great-grandchildren along with several other nieces and nephews, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Markin McKisson; and a brother, Theron McKisson. A celebration of his life will be 2 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Rev.Chris Hemundofficiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 2pm on Wednesday at the church. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Darling, Garrett Gordon, Hal Saunders, Ronnie Gibson and Garrett McKisson. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Lovelace and Kenny Broadway. Memorials may be made to NEA Baptist Foundation, Flo and Phil Hospice House or Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
