Jonesboro- Norman Wayne Nix Jr., 50, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was born July 7, 1966 in Jonesboro. Norman was a crew chief at Pope Lawn Care for over twenty years. He was formerly an amateur wrestler named "Luscious Luther". He will be remembered as hardworking and loving family man. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Katheryn Nix; his parents, Bobby and Jewel Ballew and Norman and Alene Nix; two sons, Michael Nix and Jeffrey Nix; a daughter, Christian Nix; three step-children, Wanda Johnson, Frankie Ivy and Danial Macias; two brothers, Randy Ballew and Anthony McMillion; five sisters, Connie Buford, Debbie Stuart, Mary Peel, Della Hazelwood and Sara Kelms; six grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vonda Keasler officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Nix, Michael Peel, Dustin Hazelwood, Phillip Beebe, Anthony McMillion and James Austin and as honorary pallbearers, Kevin Ward and Nathan Ballew. Donations may be sent to the funeral home to defray funeral costs.
