Obituary

Jonesboro- Norma Jean Newsom, 90, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at her home.

She was born June 2, 1932 in Corinth, Mississippi to the late Thomas Luther and Minnie Lee Davis Blankenship.  She and her husband, Frank Newsom shared forty-four years together till his death. Mrs. Newsom was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Newsom; her special cousin, Mildred Spera and daughter, Donna; niece, Kathy Davis and nephews, John Newsom and Son Newsom and forever neighbors, Fred and Jane Heise, Johnny and Marie Moore, Carl and Betty Tabor, Richard and Mary Ann Thurman, Kathy Davis, Eula Davis and Katherine Myers.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2022 at Unity Cemetery near Jonesboro with Rev. Archie Mason officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A special thank you to her friends and caregivers, Doris Simpson, Shena Sims, Ambria Moore, Connie Siebert, Nancy Gonzalez and Mary Ashlock.  Thank you to Pastor Archie for his concern and love in this difficult time and to Dr. Brannon Treece for his care.

Lasting memorials may be sent to Central Baptist Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
