Jonesboro- Norma Jean McElroy, 80, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022.

She was born April 19, 1942 in Monette to the late Roy and Mary Fleetwood Nettles. She was a member of Refuge Baptist Church in Lake City and loved to sing at church. Norma was a beautician for twenty years. She loved to cook for her family and took pride in her flowers and yard.

She is survived her children, Donna Barnes (Joey) of Brookland and Doug Harper (Jody) of Lucas, Texas; a brother, Jim Nettles (Shirley) of Little Rock; a cousin, Rick Fleetwood; grandchildren, Joshua Barnes of Brookland and Aubree Harper of Lucas.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Larry McElroy; a son, Dana Harper and a brother, Bill Nettles.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette with Steve Hinkle officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jake Gilley, Zach Guiltner, Sam Lee, Sammy Lee Jr., Danny McFarland, and Tony Elridge.
