Jonesboro - Mrs. Norma Lou Belk, 78, departed this life Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Flo Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born June 8, 1935 in Brookland, the daughter of William Samuel Wester and Bertha L. Houston Wester. Norma worked in the bakery at Hays Price Chopper and Country Mart in the 90's. She retired at the age of 62. She was an active member at Nettleton Baptist Church where she was a member since 1961. She was a member of the Sonshine ladies Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Wester; her first husband Amos Hamilton; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her husband Don Belk of the home; one son, Allen Hamilton (Robin) of Jonesboro; two daughters, Janet Stone (David) of Jonesboro, Debi Skeet (Mike) of Pocahontas; two step-sons, Donald Belk (Teresa) of Jonesboro and Richard Belk (Gina) of Brookland; seven grandchildren, Chariti Smith, Holli Haynie (John), Bryant Skeet (Tiffany), Bradley Hamilton (Leah), Nicole Schmidt (Brent), Jael Stone, Ballard Skeet; four step-grandchildren, Brody Belk (Brook), Madalyn Belk, Rachel Belk and Sara Belk, and 5 great grandchildren, Mason Ward, Morgan Skeet, Nathan Cooper, Mallory Schmidt and Case Haynie; a step-great-grandson, Jace Belk. Funeral services have been set for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Nettleton Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park cemetery under the direction of Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home. Friends may visit at the church Tuesday morning, 9:30 a.m. till service time. Pallbearers will be Bradley Hamilton, Bryant Skeet, Ballard Skeet, Brent Schmidt, Mason Ward and Nathan Cooper. The Sonshine Ladies Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers.
