Ravenden Springs - Neta Jean Vandergriff, 69, departed this life on Thursday, April 05, 2012 at her home. Daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel Reynolds Evans was born on October 22, 1942 in Dalton, AR. She was a member of Hamil Community Church. She was united in marriage at Hamil Community Church on March 04, 1961 to Elvis (Pete) Vandergriff who preceded her in death June 30, 2010. She is also preceded in death by one brother James Evans and brother-in-laws; Witt Hibbard and Gary Gardner. She is survived by three children; Rebecca Matthews and husband Jackie of Ravenden Springs, Judy Barnett and husband Bob of Pocahontas, and Paula Swift and husband Eddie of Ravenden Springs, three grandchildren; Holli Nitzsche and husband Paul of Morris, IL, Eric Swift of Ravenden Springs, and Zoie Barnett of Pocahontas, and one great grandchild William Nitzsche. Two sisters; Jewell Bennett and husband BW of Pocahontas, Joyce Garner of Pocahontas, and one brother Jerry Evans and wife Diane of Pocahontas, and several nieces and nephews. Neta will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 07, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Matthew Donner. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers include: Clinton Bennett, Scott Bennett, Kenny Bennett, David Hibbard, Blake Bennett, Jeff Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers include: Eric Swift, Jackie Matthews, Eddie Swift and Bob Barnett.
