Pocahontas- Myrtle Akins, 99, passed away on March 22, 2019 at Randolph Home.
Myrtle was born on March 27, 1919 in West Plains, MO to Austin and Frona Bennett Collins.
She was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard and flowerbeds. She worked in manufacturing in St. Louis, MO and Detroit, MI and was a spot welder at ammunition plants during World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hyatt Akins; her parents, Austin and Frona Collins; two brothers, Oliver and Leo Collins; three sisters, Tempa Perrin, Cammie Brown and Mabel Brown.
She is survived by loving nieces, nephews, and friends with special thanks to Mary Craig and Rose Akins.
Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at McNabb Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 11 am with Mr. Paul Collins officiating. Burial following in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Blake Craig, Kenny Brown, Stanley Collins, Paul Collins, Fred Reynolds, and Allen Mercer.
Honorary pallbearers: Floyd Brown, Sonny Craig, Matthew McCallister, and Greg Schalder.
