Jonesboro- Myra Auneen Schisler, 86, passed Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her home.

She was born February 3, 1932 in Jonesboro to the late Edgar and Opal Reynolds Bullard. Mrs. Schisler worked for the Jonesboro Schools for many years. She was a devout Christian whose life centered on serving God. She was active in her church, the Shepherd's Heart Church, the nursing home ministry and the jail and prison ministry. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Byron Schisler and three brothers and a niece.

She is survived by three sons, Richard Schisler of Portland, Oregon, Edward Schisler (Vicki) of Jonesboro and Randall Schisler (Jeanne) of Kenansville, Florida; a sister, Anita Atherton (Charles); two sisters-in-law, Rachel Hargett of Jonesboro and Addie Johnson (Doyne) of Spokane, Missouri; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. James Strait officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Cory Schisler, Colt Schisler, Seth Schisler, Lynn Strait, Albert Sartain, Terry Dancer, Max Tarkington, Dennis Lore and Larry Peterson and as honorary pallbearers, Neal Mullins, Tom Davis, Ray Moise, Jerry Burrow and Wayne Hale.
