Monette-Murelene McFarlin Walker, 60, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Murelene fought a long battle with cancer.

She was born January 21, 1963 in Monette to the late Dean and Alice McFarlin. She graduated Monette High School in 1981 and graduated from Arkansas State University.  Murelene worked in Adult Education at Arkansas Northeastern College and enjoyed being a teacher at Buffalo Island Central School for several years. She loved her family and friends and always had a huge smile on her face.

She lost her husband, John Walker in March of this year.

She is survived by her daughters, MaKensie Walker, Jenny Walker Hillhouse, Kelly Walker and Tina Walker Roeland; a grandson, Vincent Walker Hillhouse; her brother, James Dean McFarlin and two nephews, Darrin McFarlin and Blake Smithee and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave in Jonesboro.
