Mildred Virginia Oden Weston, 101, of Jonesboro, went to her heavenly reward on May 17, 2026. She was born June 14, 1924, in Lake City to Vernon and Gertha Oden. Mildred lived a long, faith‑filled life and was a devoted member of Shiloh Church for many years.

She married the love of her life, Boyce Weston, and together they built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and family.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Marlin Weston; her son‑in‑law, Billy Chappel; three brothers, Cornelius, Alfred, and Willie Oden; and two sisters, Margaret Lovins and Ruby Davis.

Left to honor her memory are her son, Lannie (Regina) Weston of Jonesboro; daughters Bobbie (David) Shanks of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Sue Chappel of Ravenden, and Carolyn (Buck) Bounds of Bono; and her sister, Shirley (Sam) Curtis of Jonesboro. She also leaves behind a large and loving family including 12 grandchildren, 33 great‑grandchildren, and 21 great‑great‑grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Shiloh Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Shiloh Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons: William English, Bailey Weston, Sam Shanks, Justin Weston, Billy Ray Chappel, and Brandon Bounds. Honorary pallbearers will be her remaining grandchildren.
