Mildred Lucille McDonald of Harrisburg, departed this life Friday night, August 12, 2022, at her home, surrounded by family. She was a proud 93 years old.
She was born April 12, 1929 in Shady Grove, AR, the daughter of George Malone and Leona Lansford Malone.
Lucille was a homemaker and married to Robert McDonald for 65 years. She worked hard all her life and that was reflected in how she lived. She enjoyed fishing and nature walks in the woods, working in the fields, gardening, taking care of her flowers, word puzzles, reading her Bible and attending church services, keeping her nieces and nephews and cooking Sunday lunch. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids and all the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She was a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Keith McDonald, her brothers, Willie, Herbert, Bud, Cecil, Robert and Raymond Malone and a sister, Eva Hill.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette (Everett) Deere of Redwood, MS, her brother, Clyde (Jeanette) Malone of Harrisburg, a daughter in law, Debra Mink of Harrisburg, her sister, Nadine French of McGhee, AR, five grandchildren, Denise (Daniel) Neal of Jonesboro, Tisha Deen of Little Rock, Tia (Stuart) Caraway of Harrisburg, Liz Ruffin of Madison, MS and Jimmy (Stormy) Deere of Redwood, MS, six great-grandchildren, Chase (Candace) Blagg, Annika Deen, Hollis Caraway, Kolby Jo Caraway, Matthew (Lexi) Ruffin and Alli Ruffin, two great-great grandchildren, Maddie Imboden and Rhett Ruffin, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Brock Kendall and Mr. Mack Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Fisher Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will include Brad Malone, Jason Malone, Randy Malone, Lee Dixon, Cory Casebier, and David Chaplain.
