Jonesboro- Mildred Mae Hoggard Ferguson, 87, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at NEA Baptist Hospital.
Mildred was born on August 29, 1930 at Calamine. She was a 1949 graduate of Caraway High School, Community of Christ member, and lifelong Jonesboro resident. Spanning a career of more than two decades at The Donut Shop, located at the corner of Flint and Nettleton, she was affectionately known to Annie Camp Jr High and Jonesboro High School students and school personnel as "The Donut Shop Lady."
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Ferguson of Independence, Missouri; brother, Gary Hoggard (Ann); sisters, Carolyn Passmore (Martin) all of Jonesboro, Joy Colburn of Parsons, Kansas and Janis Coleman (Gene) of Osceola, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Velma Hoggard; brothers JL and Carl Hoggard; sister, Shirley Pardew; nephew Todd Passmore and niece Chandra Davis.
Visitation will be 1:30 until 2:30 pm, Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 300 W. Matthews in Jonesboro.
A graveside service will be 3:00 pm, Sunday at Trinity Cemetery in Bono, officiated by Community of Christ High Priest Joan Primm.
Pallbearers are Michael Johnson, Bruce Primm, John Sawyer Jr, John Sawyer III, Mickey Seeman and Steven Primm. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Hoggard, Martin Passmore, Kenneth Kirksey and Wayne Heidelberg.
