Mrs. Mildred Laverne George of Harrisburg departed this life on December 25, 2025, at her home at the age of 86. She was born November 11, 1939 in Taft, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Arthur Stephens and Ruby Stephens. Following High School, Mildred worked for many years at American Greetings in Harrisburg, where she later retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands and seven siblings.

She is survived by two sons, David Smith of Harrisburg and Steve Smith of Gladwin, MI, five Grandchildren, Sean, Steve, Jr., Makela, Heather, and Nick, and Eight Great Grandchildren.

A Graveside Funeral has been set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Bolivar Cemetery, under the direction of Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. until service time.
