Mrs. Mildred Veronica Austin, of Caraway, departed this life Friday, May 9, 2014, at her home at the age of 70. She was born November 18, 1943 in Leachville, the daughter of the late Clyde Crabtree and Adell Wheeler Crabtree. She was a homemaker and also worked in the family business, Austin Auto Sales and Salvage. She loved baseball, fishing and flowers. She married Bobby Ray Austin in November of 1959 and they enjoyed 54 years together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Austin of the home, one daughter, Kim Pettit and her fiance Jim Taylor of Caraway, one son, Ricky Austin and his wife Deborah of Caraway, one brother, Alvin Crabtree and his wife Kay of Bono, one sister, Wanda Looney and her husband Jack of Harrisburg, four grandchildren, Michael Pettit, Renee Pettit, Devon Austin and Ryan Austin. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Larry White officiating. Interment will follow in Caraway Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
