Mignon Clements Brooks, 73, of Pocahontas, passed away peacefully in her home on April 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 31, 1946 in Jackson County, AR, to the late Vester Clements and the late Lucille Jimerson Clements Beard.
Mignon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, Bill Brooks of Pocahontas, husband Bennie Moore of Corning, one infant son, Russel Dean Brown, one sister, Shirley Brown and one great grandchild, Layla Wheetley.
She is survived by five children, Lee (Theresa) Brown, Vivian Nichoalds, Shelley Mitchell, Ramonda (Eric) Housh, and Charles Brooks, one son-of-the-heart, James Sumner, all of Pocahontas, AR, and one stepson, Bennie (Ashley) Moore, Jr. of Corning; 11 grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Shawn Proctor, Marissa Sumner (Brandon Porter), Malcolm (Shania) Wheetley, Corey Wheetley, Cordal Wheetley, Dylan Housh, Sydney Housh, Gracie Hamilton, Makenzie Wheetley, Asa Hamilton, two step grandchildren, Levi and Layla Moore; 10 great grandchildren, Corey, Kennady, Oliver, Bently, Brody, Beckett, Laken, Riley, Landon, and Conner. She is also survived by in-laws Bobby (Ginger) Brooks, Verna Poole, and Linda Brooks, all of Pocahontas, Jan Stewart, Joyce Massey, Ina (Buddy) Wittenmyer, Glenda Ernest, Twylia Hutchinson, and Randy (Susan) Moore, lifelong friends Darrell and Anna Mae Higginbotham and children, also of Pocahontas, caregiver, Jamie Willmuth, and may cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mignon was of the Christian faith, a member of Shannon Baptist Church, and later served by teaching Sunday School, and running the food pantry at Unity Baptist Church. She obtained her GED in 1991 and her Associate of Science in Business from Black River Technical College in 2001. She possessed a strong work ethic and exemplified leadership as Assistant Plant Manager at Golf Bag Industries, later utilizing her business degree, and them working as a substitute teacher for the Pocahontas Public School District.
Mignon loved to sew, having learned the skill from her mother. She spent countless hours playing cards and board games with her family and friends. She enjoyed word puzzles, westerns, and anything related to Elvis. She loved music and dancing and enjoyed her time league bowling in Pocahontas. She and Bill enjoyed camping and spending the weekends on the water with their children and dear friends, the Higginbotham's. In her later years, she enjoyed cruising with her sister Shirley and friend Anna. She enjoyed spending her retirement with and being doted on by Bennie.

Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society through the Randolph County Relay for Life or the Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge. A time to celebrate Mignon's life will be announced at a later date.
