Jonesboro- Michael Eugene Williams passed away March 30, 2023. He was born May 4, 1989, to George and Flora "Jena"  Williams in Jonesboro. He was a resident of Jonesboro. Michael was salutatorian of the Jonesboro High School class of 2007 and was awarded the Bodenhamer Fellowship to the University of Arkansas. Michael cared deeply for others and the environment. He never hesitated to help others in need, whether in person or online.

Michael leaves behind his parents, one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Nick Griffin of Memphis, Tennessee and one nephew, Bennett Griffin. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles, Dr. Richard and Julie Nix of Little Rock, Vivian Nix and Eric Nelson of Cary, North Carolina, and Jim Williams of Shrewsbury, New Jersey, as well as many cousins and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty and Gus Williams, and Ben and Vivian Nix; as well as by his aunts and uncles, Bobby and Kathi Parella, Ben and Kathy Nix, and Nancy Miller; and by his cousin, Garrett Nix.

Michael was loved deeply by his family who will miss him always. Cremation is being handled by Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Michael's ashes will be spread by the family in a private ceremony.

His family asks that if you are so moved, you make a donation in his memory to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society or The Trevor Project.
