Bay - Michael Lewis Johnson, 70, passed away from this life on June 13, 2022.

He was born January 7, 1952 in Jonesboro the son of Mike and Irene Smith Johnson. Michael spent his youth in the town of Nettleton where he attended Nettleton Public School. He met Hazel Smith and moved to Bay where they spent twenty-two years together.

Michael was a volunteer firefighter for Southridge Fire Department where he won the distinguished title and a plaque designating him as 1988 firefighter of the year. He also worked as a security guard a few years at Trailmobile. At the time of his passing, he was owner of Bay Small Engine Repair. He was of the Baptist belief.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, thirteen siblings, several nieces and nephews, and Hazel Smith.

He is survived by several aunts, nieces and nephews, his significant other Greta Browning and her son, Caleb, Vicki Rouse, and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Spencer officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service. Interment will be at Nettleton Cemetery.
