Obituary

POCAHONTAS-Michael Earl DeClerk died Thursday in Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. He was born November 15, 1947 in Pocahontas. Mr. DeClerk owned and operated DeClerk Truck Center for over thirty years, was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Whitaker DeClerk, a son, John Michael DeClerk and wife, Elizabeth, of Ocklawaha, Florida, a daughter, Jennifer King and husband, Chad, of Jonesboro, a granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth DeClerk, of Ocklawaha, Florida, parents, John A. and Wilma "Billie" Edlin DeClerk of Pocahontas, five brothers, Dan DeClerk of Peyton, CO, Nick DeClerk of Pocahontas and Tim, Greg and Kevin DeClerk all of Little Rock, three sisters, Debbie Sprecher of Okemos, MI, Margaret DeClerk of Las Vegas, NV and Denise Johnston of Irving, TX, brother-in-law Bill Whitaker and wife, Jan, of Collierville, TN, sister-in-law, Jane Cuvellier and husband, Craig, of Columbia, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral mass will be held at 10am Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church with Father Joel Derks officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 Friday evening at St. Paul's Catholic Church with a rosary said at 7pm. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society and Adoration Chapel at St. Paul's Church.
