Melissa Marshan Johnson- Whiteley, age 54, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday November 8th, 2025, at St Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, but only after putting up a valiant six-hour fight to stay.

Melissa was born on January 11th, 1971, in Duluth, Georgia to Roy William Johnson and Elaine Myrtle Hadaway. Melissa was raised in Georgia, spent her youth in Church, and was active in the AWANAs the Bible based Youth Ministries. Melissa graduated from Clarkston High School Dekalb County Georgia Class of 1990. Melissa then went to Cosmetology School and went on to create a business named GRIME STOPPERS where she provided Residential and Commercial cleaning services. Melissa was a tireless worker.

Melissa is survived by Michael Brent Whiteley- Husband, Elaine Myrtle Watson-Mother Austin William Martin-Son, Brent Michael Carvalho-Whiteley-Son, Tabithia Sheree Dilliard (David)-Sister, Amy Lynn Johnson-Sister, and Robert Douglas Watson-Brother, and was preceded in death by Roy William Johnson-Father, and Robbie Watson-Father.

Melissa will be remembered for her devotion to her Spirituality, dedication to a lifetime following Jesus. Melissa had a Love for all animals, and she cared deeply for her four furry legged friends Rosa, Sebastian, Lillie, and Thor. Additionally, Melissa had a passion for flowering plants that she grew and cultivated.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 22nd 10 AM at the Church of God of Prophecy 3128 Highway 115 Pocahontas, Arkansas 72455
