Obituary

Jonesboro- Maxine Wallis Williams, 85, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

She was born April 12, 1932 in Harrisburg to the late W. L. and Lois Fears Riley. She worked for many years with Sears. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church. She was a past -president of State Ladies Auxiliary, 129 Eastern Star and past president of the local VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Wallis Sr.; a son, Wayne Wallis; a brother, William Riley; a sister, Patsy Riley Sims and two grandsons, Daniel Wayne "Dan" Futrell and Robert A "Robby" Wallis.

She is survived by her husband, Verlin F. Williams; their children, Rita Russell (Edward) of Poplar Bluff, MO, Joyce Futrell (Danny) of Cherry Valley, Pat Campbell (Colin) of Dayton, TN, Gayle Primm (Mac) of Jonesboro, Bob Wallis of Paragould, Dale Williams (Terra) of Marion, Steven Williams and Paul Williams both of Jonesboro and Susan Whatley (Jeff) of Jacksonville; a brother, Johnny Riley (Cindy); twenty-two grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Stan Ballard officiating. Interment will follow at Boliver Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
