Lake City - Maxine Gibson, 90, passed away Thursday April 30, 2015 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice. She was born January 10, 1925 in Jonesboro to the late James Jefferson and Mae Williford Asbill. Maxine and J. D. Gibson married November 4, 1939 and enjoyed 63 years together till he passed in 2002. She loved being with her family and friends, raising a vegetable garden and flowers, listening to books on tape, trips to the lake, fishing with her late husband and eating at Fishboat Restaurant. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include her seven children, L D Gibson (Alma) of Trumann, Shirley Gibson, Deloros Gibson, Mary "Kay" Gibson all of Lake City, Ronnie Gibson (Linda) of Jonesboro, Larry Gibson (Karalee) of Lake City and Terry Gibson (Judith) of Forrest City; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, May 4, 2015 in the Chapel of Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home 300 W. Matthews Ave. Jonesboro, 870-935-5566, with Rev. David Mote Jr. and Jimmy Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Kevin Griffin, Noah Griffin, Mason Griffin, David Gibson, David Fletcher and Zack Nichols and as honorary pallbearers, David Mote Sr. and Joe Gibson. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Flo Phil Jones Hospice House or Pine Log Cemetery.
