Obituary
Jonesboro- Mary Lou Wood, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Mary Lou was born August 4, 1933 in Nettleton to the late B. C. and J. Lee Wise Cole. She attended Nettleton schools and loved attending their class reunions. She was a graduate of Arkansas State, then taught many years in its College of Business. Mary Lou was a life member of Master Gardeners. She enjoyed gardening, exercising, playing bridge and reading.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gaines Wood; a sister, Bonnie Reilly and a brother, Dr. Gary Cole.
Mary Lou is survived by her children and their spouses, Dr. Mark Wood (Laura) of Jonesboro, Dr. Bob Wood Jr. (Terri) of Mobile, Alabama and Becky Frederick (Doug) of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren, Cole Wood, Gretchen Larkin, Isabella Wood, Jill Talbert, Brian Wood, Laura Dilworth, Hallie Frederick and Michael Frederick and three great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Pine Log Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
Lasting memorials may be sent to the Jonesboro Public Library.
