Mary Frances (Miller) Wallace passed away Monday, July 6th, 2026, at Monette Manor at the age of 89. Mary was born July 3rd, 1937 at Delfore, AR to J.R. (Boss) and Edna (Barnes) Miller.
Growing up in the Delfore area she attended school at Turkey Run, later transferring to Childress where she graduated in 1954. She was very active in sports and plays. She graduated with honors and was named Miss CHS in 1954 by the faculty.
She attended Delfore Methodist church where she played the piano and was involved in all the church activities. She was saved at the age of 12 and was baptized in the St. Francis River near Monette. She later became a member of the Monette First Baptist church where she served in many areas faithfully. In 1976 she was chosen by the members of the church as “Mother of the Year.”
In adult life she raised her family on the farm, working right beside them. During the tough times of farming, she helped supplement the family income by holding down a second job becoming the first female bus driver at Monette High School. In doing this she taught her children how to give their all at everything they work at. She also taught her children by her example to be strong, regardless of what life may throw at them. She taught them how to love without expecting anything in return and how to live and love the life God gave them. Most of all, she made sure her children knew and followed Jesus.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra Whited, Pam (Wesley) Sandusky, Kerin (Cole) Hawkins, daughter-in-law: Karen Wallace; seven grandchildren: Blake (Danae) Sandusky, Heather (Walt) Short, Bradley (Michele) Wallace, Kimberly (Todd) Baumgartner, Justin (Taffy) Hawkins, Mark Hawkins, Heath (Madison) Hawkins and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, J.R. and Edna Miller, brothers: James, Jack, Bob, and Raymond Miller, son: Michael Wallace, son-in-law: Roy Whited, grandsons: Zach Whited and Seth Whited
Funeral Services will be Thursday July 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at Leachville First Baptist church with Jared Russell and Bob Blakenship officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will take place in Monette Cemetery following services.
Pallbearers will be Blake Sandusky, Bradley Wallace, Justin Hawkins, Mark Hawkins, Heath Hawkins, Jansen Hawkins and Claude Greer.
