Obituary

Jonesboro- Mary Alice Victoria Griffin, 91, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Flo \u0026 Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born November 10, 1927 in Bono to the late A.C. and Martha Roberts Cook. She loved working in her flower garden and being a homemaker. She enjoyed country music and adored her grandchildren and friends. She was a lifelong member of the Fisher Street Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She is survived by two sons, Shelby Lee Griffin Sr. (Donna) of Bono and Timothy Ryan Griffin (Bonnie) of Otwell; two grandsons, Shelby Lee Griffin Jr. (Brooke) of Jonesboro and J. Dalton Griffin of Trumann; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Iven Griffin; four brothers and five sisters, Charlie Cook, Artie Mitchell, Ila Vison, Jim Cook, Ophelia Johnson, Leotha Fuller, Margaret Mitchell, George Cook and Billy Joe Cook.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at McDaniel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gary Crow, Darrell Cook, Ken Yarbrough, Mike Johnson, Tom Covington and Jack Johnson and honorary pallbearers, Troy Johnson and David Bailey.
