Mrs. Mary Carolyn Saddler of Harrisburg, departed this life Thursday evening, January 27, 2022, in Jonesboro, at the age of 78.

She was born September 5, 1943 in Marked Tree, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Verbil O. Isbell and Lela Wooten Isbell.

Mary married Joel Saddler on November 28, 1958 and they enjoyed 49 years together until his death in 2007.  She worked at American Greetings until they closed and then she began her career with DHS. She retired from DHS in 2008 and began working part-time at the Modern News.  Her last job was secretary for Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member and pianist for many years.  She loved sewing, singing and traveling, but the love of her life was her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myra Rankin and Betty Wallin.

She is survived by two children, Pam Traynom of Harrisburg, and Joel Saddler, Jr. (Marilyn) of Trumann, one sister, Joyce Newcomb of Harrisburg, one brother, Verbil Isbell, Jr. (Mary Jo) of Florida, seven grandchildren, Leslie Weatherford, Shannon Mooney, Sarah Sumner, Hunter Traynom, Alexandria Turner, Tony Cox and Chris Cox, and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Rev. Robert Shearon officiating.  Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.   Those serving as pallbearers will be Colt McCurly, River Goodell, Gary Wallace, Roger Traynom, Curtis Sanders, Kenny Smith, and Josh Bradley.
