Mary Evelyn Phillips, 91, of Maynard passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born May 6, 1931 in Nettleton, Arkansas to the late Erbin Lee Wise and Maddie Viola Waller . She was a Marine veteran, and a postal clerk with the United States Postal Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erbin Lee Wise and Maddie Viola Waller Short; husband, Cecil Calvin Phillips; and son, Calven Lee Phillips.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Sandra Salazar of Maynard; grandchildren, Jason Lee (Michelle) Salazar of Anna, TX, and Amanda (Jonathan) Higgins of Jonesboro; and great-grandson, Cameron Austin Salazar of Anna, TX.

Private services with military honors will be held at Maynard Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
