Obituary

Jonesboro -Mary Bernice Merrill, 82, with her family by her side was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday February 5, 2013. Mary was born on June 20, 1930 in Ecorse, Michigan to the late Harry and Irene Clark. She was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was active in many ministries including the Eucharistic Ministry, Adoration, Crusillo, Maryknoll, Rosary Guild, and volunteered at the Pregnancy Resource Center, as well as the church gift shop. Mary enjoyed traveling especially to Michigan to spend time with family and to Branson for fun. She was an avid reader and really enjoyed old movies. She was survived by her children and their spouses, Anita and Michael Reagan of Van Buren, Eugene and Nancy Merrill Jr. of Jonesboro, Joseph and Judy Merrill of Fayetteville, Mary and Tommy Tucker of Jonesboro; three sisters, Ellen Wojcik of Ecorse, MI, Rita Jenkins of Wyandotte, MI, Theresa Morris of Rockwood, MI; a brother, Francis Clark of Riverview, MI.; a grandchild, Josie Merrill of Fayetteville; four step-grandchildren, Malisa Klug and husband Al of Collierville, TN., Christy Thompson, Kyle Cook and wife Julie, Brandon Cook all of Jonesboro; five step-great-grandchildren, Al Klug IV, Madison Thompson, Cooper Cook, Alex Thompson, and Macy Cook; numerous other family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Merrill Sr., three brothers, Edward Clark, John Clark and Raymond Clark and a sister, Loretta McNamara. A celebration of her life will be Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2:00 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Jack Vu officiating and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:00 until 7:30 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout funeral home with Rosary at 7:30. Honored to serve as pallbearers- the Knights of Columbus Special thanks to Dr. Danny Grubbs and staff at Jonesboro Internal Medicine, Beckey Wilkey, Dr. Ben Owens, staff and volunteers of the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, and all of her friends at St. Bernards Village.
