Mary Carolyn Mangrum, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Quapaw Care and Rehab Center in Hot Springs, at the age of 90.
She was born December 17, 1927 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Sidney Willis and Irene Fryar Willis.
Following high school, Mary completed business school in Memphis and began a long, successful career with ASCS in Harrisburg. She retired from there after many years of service. She married Kenneth Mangrum in 1946 and they enjoyed 49 years together before his death in 1995. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg, where she was the organist for many years.
She is survived by her son Keith Mangrum (Suzanne) of Hot Springs, two grandchildren, Debra Michelle Hart of Cabot and Shawn Kerr Mangrum (Jennifer) of Mary Esther, FL and six great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Kelly Jones officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gregg-Weston Funeral Home of Harrisburg. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
