Jonesboro- Mary B. Long, 76, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 30, 1937 in Jonesboro to the late Homer and Gracie Baltzell. Mrs. Long retired from Sears after seventeen years. She also worked for eleven years at Jimco Lamp Company, five years at The Casual Bar and three years at Clark's Cleaners. She was a member of the Crowley's Ridge Cruisers Car Club and enjoyed going to car shows and visiting with everyone. She loved gardening, home decorating and was a wonderful seamstress. Mrs. Long was a active member of the Temple Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charles Dean Long; two sons, Charles Lessley Long of Brunswick, Georgia and Jerry Lee Long of Jonesboro; three sisters, Conus Gardner and husband Leonard of Memphis, Betty Mounce of Mt. Home and Kathy Johnson of Ash Flat; five grandchildren, Angela Joy Riddle of Medina, Tenn., Leslie Janette Smith of Jonesboro, Lester Ryan Long of Bono, Jeremy Vincent Long of Miami, FL and Loren Hayley Long of Brookland; six great-grandchildren, Kaila Riddle, Kiristen Riddle, Sydney Woodard, Allyson Smith, Kaitlyn Long and Spencer Long. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Les Alan Long and Justin Long; three sisters, Catherine Edmonds, Rosie Baltzell and Eva Baltzell; four brothers, James Baltzell, David Baltzell, Billy Baltzell and Jimmy Lee Baltzell. A celebration of her life will be 10:00 am, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, November 8, 2013 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Fred Justus Jr., Terry Clouse, Ted Davis, Jeremy Farmer, James Gould, and Leonard Gardner. Lasting memorials may be sent to Temple Baptist Church.
