Jonesboro- Mary Elizabeth Cope Pyburn, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
She was born July 30, 1935 in Monette to the late Dewey and Mahaley Greenfield Cope. Mary lived most of her life in Lake City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Needham Assembly of God.
She is survived by a son, Kevin Pyburn of Lake City; four brothers, Gary Cope (Gelenda) of Brookland, Roger Cope (Anna) and Bill Cope (Rilla) both of Jonesboro and Terry Cope of Needham; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Freddie Ray Pyburn; two sons, Dewayne and Ronnie Pyburn; six siblings, Dewey Cope Jr., Reba Moore, Bobby Cope, Joseph Cope, Paul Cope, Freda Cope Maynard and Jerry Dale Cope.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Monday at the Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Pruett's Chapel Cemetery near Paragould.
The visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Sam Smith, Brent Smith, Brad Curtis, Ricky Rand, Michael Pyburn and Rob Love and honorary pallbearers are her brothers and nephews.
