Marvin Woodrow "Woody" Wilson, of Harrisburg, AR, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 79.

He was born March 16, 1944 in Newport, Arkansas, the son of Marvin F. Wilson and Maggie Drummond Wilson.

Woody was raised in the Stegall area near Newport. He married Patricia Osborn on August 22, 1969 and they moved to Harrisburg. He was an art teacher at Harrisburg High School for 40 years. He was a member of the AR Art Teachers Association, AR Education Association and the National Education Associations. He received his BSE at UCA. His favorite hobby was building scale models of farm equipment. Woody was a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 15 years and was a Bible Class Teacher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Pat Wilson in June of 2021. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wilson. He is survived by two children, Andrew Wilson of the home and Kristi Barnett and her husband Blake of Jonesboro, one sister, JoAnn Vanover of Titusville, FL, and two grandchildren, Avery Branum and her husband Chase of Kennett, MO and Wilson Barnett of Jonesboro.

Funeral Services are set for Friday, December 22, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Mark Weston and Mr. Brock Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 1:00 p.m. till service time. Pallbearers will include Jason McGee, Caleb Henry, Rockey Rapert, Grant Whittingham, Kenny Mills, and Brian Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be his coffee drinking buddies, Garl Scott, Bobby Austin, Carroll Price, Larry Bright, John King, Charles Brietz, Butch Davis, Marvin Kraus, Marlin Kirby, Barry Deckelman and Jerry Howard.
