Jonesboro- Martha Jean Mungle, 74, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023.

She was born March 24, 1949 in Jonesboro to the late Noble and Flora Lee Wyatt Goad. She was a former school teacher and retired from Walmart. Martha also was an announcer and timekeeper for the Northeast Arkansas Horse Show Association for several years. She was a member of Fisher Street United Methodist Church. She was a very kind and caring person who loved her animals and to read and was an artist.

She is survived by her daughter, Erin Morphis (Anthony); brother, James W. Goad (Bonnie); sister, Paula Stevenson (Brian) all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Dalton Morphis and Megan Morphis; nieces and nephews, James J. Goad, Bryce Goad (Dione), Angela D. Robbins (Mark), Alicia Lamb (James) and Whitney Stevenson; close friend for over sixty years, Rhonda Shannon of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest T. Mungle and her daughter, Cara Mungle.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Charles Coleman officiating.
