Obituary

Mr. Mark Anthony "Andy" Terrell, of Harrisburg, departed this life Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 58.
He was born on October 6, 1958 at the Verser Clinic in Harrisburg, the son of Edsel Terrell and Barbara Jean Hunn Terrell.
Andy was a lifetime resident of Harrisburg and was truly devoted to his community. He was a 1977 graduate of Harrisburg High School. Through the years he has been devoted to serving his fellow man and doing his part to make Harrisburg a great place to live. He was a former member of the Harrisburg Rotary Club, the Harrisburg Lion's Club, Harrisburg City Youth and many other civic organizations. If it needed done in Harrisburg, Andy was always there to do his share. He sponsored the Harrisburg Pee Wee Football and Baseball teams several years. He worked at the Jr. High and Senior High home football games and helped announce from the booth. He loved hunting, fishing and cooking and was an avid Razorback and Cardinal fan. He began a very successful career with Farm Bureau Insurance in 1987. He was named Rookie of the Year in 1988. He won the Farm Bureau Round Table 8 years, Farm Bureau All-star 9 years, Farm Bureau Sportsman 10 years. He was the #1 Fire Agent in the State for 7 years. He was named the #1 Property and Casualty Agent several times throughout his career. His most recent accomplishment with Farm Bureau was getting the Young Farmers and Ranchers group started again. Andy was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Weiner. He will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father Edsel Terrell in 2015. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Jean Terrell of Harrisburg, a sister, Jeanna Lynn Terrell of Harrisburg, a brother, Thomas Van Terrell (Dee Ann) of Jonesboro, a daughter, Kara Elizabeth Terrell of Fayetteville, a son, Tad Andrew Terrell (Morgan Ann) of Jonesboro, three grandchildren whom he adored, Alexis Taylor Terrell, Addie Grace Terrell and Briggs Ann Terrell, several nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday afternoon, 4:00 p.m., at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Dr. Kelly Jones officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, 2:00-4:00 p.m. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the NEA Fowler Cancer Center in Jonesboro.
