Jonesboro- Margaret Eunice Barnett Randle Smith, 100, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at her home. She was born January 9, 1916, in Jonesboro, the only child of Fred Carney Barnett and Alleene Jelks Barnett. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She graduated from Jonesboro High School, class of 1933, being the lifelong secretary of that class keeping in touch with all members over the years. Her hobby was making aprons and giving them to friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas B. Smith; a daughter, Martha Johnson; a son, James Randle; a step-son, Thomas B. Smith Jr; and a granddaughter, Margaret Virginia Johnson. She is survived by her son, Richard Randle of Bonita, CA; grandchildren, Jessica Randle, and James Eric Randle and wife Laura, of Memphis, Luke Johnson and wife Sara and Veronica Boyd and husband Thomas and son-in-law, Paul Johnson of Leesburg, FL; seven great-grandchildren, Margaret Ann Johnson, Martha Kate Johnson, Parker Boyd, Madeline Virginia Boyd, Briggs Randle, Cora Randle and Mason Hayes; and her four wonderful caregivers, Ann Morse, Rosie Hudson, Susan Easley and Darlene Wilson. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2016 at City Cemetery in Jonesboro with Rev. Jerry Wilcox officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 am Thursday at the funeral home.
