Obituary

Jonesboro- Margaret B. Allen, 88, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. She was born April 5, 1927 in Malabar, Florida to the late John and Kate McDaniel Stuckey. She worked at "House of Fashion" for seven years until she met the love of her life, George Allen. They were married at the First Christian Church on November 19, 1950 and shared sixty-one years together. They moved to Trumann in 1955 and opened "George's Auto Parts and Machine Shop" and operated it for twenty-seven years until they retired and moved back to Jonesboro. Margaret was a wonderful cook for her family and friends, sharing her recipes throughout the area. She put out a recipe book when she was 72 years old. Margaret loved to be active in clubs, church events and variety of sports. She loved to sew and won first place in the State of Arkansas in making a coat and suit in 1965. She is survived by her son, Johnny Allen of Jonesboro; two grandsons, Gage Allen and Dakota Allen both of Little Rock; a nephew, Walter Allen of Memphis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Allen; two sisters, Jean McDaniel and Agnes McDaniel. A celebration of her life will be 1:30 pm Friday, November 20, 2015 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Miles officiating under the direction of Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Gregg -Langford Bookout Funeral Home. Lasting memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church.
