Jonesboro- Manley James "Jim" Fox Jr., 60, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his residence. He was born April 17, 1955 in Jonesboro to the late M. J. Fox Sr. and Estelle Maddox Fox. He graduated Jonesboro High School in 1973 and attended Georgia Tech. He had been manager of McDonalds, Wendy, Poncho's, Steak Escape, Corky BBQ and others in the Jonesboro, NW and NE Arkansas and Memphis area. He had been active in the Boy's Scout growing up and earned the Eagle Scout Designation. He helped at National Jamboree in Idaho in 1971 and went to the World Jamboree in Japan in 1973. He enjoyed camping out, cooking, reading and traveling, he went several times with his family to Europe, Scotland and England in 1992 to WWII Commeration. He is survived by his sister and her husband, Janet and Vance Kibbons; a nephew, Dr. Michael Scott of Kansas City, Missouri; several cousins and his dog, One-Eye Jack. A celebration of his life will be 10:00 am Friday, July 3, 2015 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Venable officiating. Private burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dr. Michael Scott, Bill Hayden, Philip Williams, Daniel Fox, Dennis Hill and Brian Hill and as honorary pallbearers, Bill Fox, Pat McQuay, Leon Carlisle, Bob Cook, Linda Smith, John Meredith, Trenisha Hendrix and other caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a local Boy Scout Troop or a favorite charity.
