Pocahontas - Maggie Sue Hicks, 80, of Pocahontas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Randolph County Nursing Home.
Maggie was born on February 5, 1945, in Black Rock to the late Claude (Dutch) and Johnie Lue Stone Denton. She had a love for sports whether it was the St. Louis Cardinals or her grandchildren and other relatives participating in multiple sports. She also was known locally as a legendary cook, especially her homemade fudge. Her favorite love was spending time with her grandchildren. She was of Baptist faith and loved the Lord with all her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Johnie Denton; grandson, Deklan Hicks McKee; her siblings, Les Denton, Shelby Denton, Twila Haskins, Hellen Hicks, and Shirley Jarrett.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Hicks; children, David (Kathy) Hicks of Melbourne, Ronald (Connie) Hicks of Hoxie, Melissa (Shawn) Hackworth of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Sarah (Barry) Fowler, Whitney (Tyler) Cooper, Tiffany Hicks McKee, Chelsea (Jackson) Troxel, Scottie (Kendra) Caldwell, Blake Caldwell, Jason Ballard, Alicia (Kyle) Gardner, Nathan (Stacy) Barber, Jessica (Zachary) Nead, Evan (Hanna) Hackworth, and Briana Hackworth; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind one sister, Sloria (Jerry) Dean, along with many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 15, 2025, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 PM with Dan Avery officiating. All services will be held in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Richwood Cemetery in Corning.
