Mrs. Mae Dale Jones, of Harrisburg, Arkansas, departed this life Monday, July 14, 2014, in Jonesboro, at the age of 74. She was born March 2, 1940 in Crowder, MS, the daughter of the late Bryan Claude Childress and Sadie Aileen Woods. She grew up and graduated High School in Marked Tree, AR and was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Roy David Jones on August 26, 1961 and they enjoyed 53 years together. She enjoyed gardening, holiday decorating, fishing and camping. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Childress and Arthur Maurice Childress and one sister Mary Alice Watts. She is survived by her husband, Roy David Jones of the home, one daughter, Martha Elaine Barbee (Mark) of Monticello, AR, one son, Bryan David Jones (Terry) of Jonesboro, one sister, Pat Anderson of Batesville, one brother, Ricky Eugene Childress of Batesville and one grandson, Dakota Quaid Barbee of Monticello. Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Daniel Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Pallbearers will be Robert Jones, Dale Jones, Walter Jones, Victor Holt, Brad George and Rod Carmack.
