Pocahontas - Dr. Luther Lavern Petty, 86, passed away July 20, 2009. Born May 16, 1923 in Paragould to the late James and Nellie Petty. He is survived by wife, Shirley Petty of the home. Daughter, Karen Petty of Welland Ontario, Canada. 2 sons; Mike Petty of Batesville and Bob Petty of Paragould. 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dr. Petty founded the Church of God United Sabbath Association. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Randolph Memorial Gardens with Ben Coulson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home.
