Jonesboro (formally of Biggers) - Loyd Daniel Godwin, 77, passed away September 10, 2009 at St. Benards Hospital. He was born April 7, 1932 in Brookings to the late William Godwin and Grace (Ramsey) Tidwell. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorthy Godwin, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by wife, Betty (Jackson) Godwin of the home. Two daughters; Rhonda (Larry) Hart of Biggers and LaKathryn Godwin of Biggers. Two sons; Douglas Godwin of Pocahontas and Randall (Verna) Godwin of Corning. Step-children; Randy Jackson, Sharon Jackson, and Kim Jackson all of Jonesboro. Eight grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. Three sisters; Betty Jane Brown of Biggers, Billie Jo Tidwell of Newport, and Joyce Thielemier of Pocahontas. Two brothers; Jerry Ramsey and Earl Ramsey both of Biggers. Service was held Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Burial followed to Johnston Cemetery with David Edington officiating. Visitation was held Saturday from 5-8. Pallbearers included: Travis Godwin, Cory Godwin, Caleb Godwin, Jason Hampton, Brody Morrow, and Jacob Berger. Honorary Pallbearers: Larry Hart, Colby Hampton, Nathan Morrow, Weslee Brown, Sam Huke, Randy Jackson, James Spider Hart, Ronnie Godwin, Earl Ramsey, and Jerry Ramsey.
