Jonesboro- Louvenia Eskridge, 91, passed Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her home.
She was born September 11, 1926 in Cherry Valley to the late Ocie and Marie Burnside Grissom. She was a homemaker and an active and faithful member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who took an active role in the lives of the people she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Williams of Jonesboro and DJuana Carter (Darryl) of St. Louis; two step-sons, Joe Eskridge (Rose) of Little Rock and Artist Eskridge (Cecilia) of Tacoma, WA; a daughter-in-law- Dorothy Eskridge of Poplar Bluff, MO; a brother, E. J. Grissom (Rose) of Cherry Valley; two sisters, Fredonia Williams of Sherwood and Temperlene Smith of Little Rock; nine grandchildren, Tony Eskridge, Lisa Eskridge, Dorothy Eskridge, Angela Eskridge, Donna Sims, Vicki Hall, Richard Rudolph, Allen Williams and Lekeya Williams; special friends and caregivers, Ester Marcrum and Sherrie Owens; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Venoy Eskridge; a son, Thomas Eskridge; a daughter, Venola Rudolph; two brothers, Allen Grissom and Ozel Grissom.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Friday, July 27, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm Friday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Singleton officiating. Interment will follow at Clampett Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Larry Eskridge, Kerry Falls, Jimmy Lee Eskridge, Fred Allen, Calvin Eskridge, Tony Barrett and Dudley Owens and as honorary pallbearers, E. J. Grissom, Allen Williams Jr., Richard Rudolph, Allen Williams III and Booker Hall.
