Louise Weeks of Harrisburg, Arkansas departed this life Saturday October 24, 2020, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, at the age of 94.

She was born April 3, 1926 in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Joe Deckelman and Nellie Elzey Deckelman.

Louise was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a hard working woman. She worked in the defense plant during WWII. She later went to work at Johansen Shoe Factory, from which she retired after many years. Louise loved her family and community. She cared about and supported everyone around her. Louise helped raise all the kids in town. She was an excellent cook and baker. Louise also loved to sew and dance.

In addition to her parents Joe Deckelman and Nellie Elzey, she is preceeded in death by her husband M.V. "Doc" Weeks, her son Melvin Weeks, her sisters Dorothy Leech and Lora Hancock, her brother Sonny Deckelman.
She is survived by her granddaughters Gina West and Farrah Jones both of Jonesboro, AR, her grandson David Weeks of Fort Riley, KS, two half siblings Brenda Hogue of Jonesboro, AR and Charles Deckelman Benton, AR. Six Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday October 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Gregg-Weston Funeral Home chapel. Friends and family may visit the funeral home Wednesday October 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Those serving as pallbearers are Samuel Jones, Seldane Jones, and Anthony Brodell.
