Mrs. Lorelle Joy Sefers of Harrisburg, departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the age of 94.
She was born September 7, 1926 in Ash Flat, AR, the daughter of the late Coy Powell and Effie Lewis Powell.
Lorelle was only twelve years old when her father died and her twin brother, Verdelle stepped up and not only was a brother and best friend, but he took on a father role and took care of her and protected her. He was very special to her! Lorelle married very early in life, barely 17 years old when she married Arvil Sefers on December 5, 1943. She was a homemaker all of her life and thoroughly enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her whole life. She was a faithful Christian and a member of the Harrisburg Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, even though it was very challenging because she was legally blind for most of her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Arvil Sefers in 1998, one son, Larry Sefers, two brothers, Verdelle and Donnie Ray Powell, a step brother, Cecil Shockley, a step sister, Flora Mae Shockley, a half sister, Glenda Stewart, a half brother, Robert Shockley, two grandchildren, Carol Sefers Andrews and Mark Sefers, a great grandson, Ryan Andrews and a son-in-law, Jerry Allison, Sr.
She is survived by two sons, David Sefers of Harrisburg and Danny Sefers (Patsy) of Harrisburg, one daughter, Donna Allison of Harrisburg, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Sefers of Harrisburg, a half-sister, Gayle Moland of Clearwater, FL, eight grandchildren, Andrea Allison Smith (John), Jerry Allison, Jr. (JoAnna), Charles Allison, Cheryl Sefers Carter (Darrell), Christy Sefers Shannon, Todd Sefers, Michael Sefers, and Brian Sefers (Rebecca), seventeen great grandchildren and nineteen great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg with Mr. Brock Kendall and Mr. Mark Weston officiating. Interment will follow in Bolivar Cemetery near Harrisburg. Friends may visit Tuesday, 1:00-2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jerry Allison, Jr., Brian Sefers, Matt Smith, Kain Smith, Tyler Allison, and Logan George.
