Jonesboro- Loran Haney, 85, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home.

He was born August 19, 1935 in Black Oak to the late Thomas and Susan Gravenmier Haney. Loran served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He retired after twenty years as a Master Sergeant and had earned a bronze star. He liked to play guitar, travel around the United States in his mobile home. He enjoyed reading his Bible, going to church and invited everyone he met to church. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ. He also liked to build things and loved his family. Loran was a pilot and loved to fly.

He is survived by his wife, Shelby Markin Haney; a daughter, Crystal Brogdon (David) of Paragould; two step-children, Kellye Markin of St Simons Island, GA and Ronnie Markin of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Ann Marie Brogdon, Sydney Adams, Jagger Brogdon; step-grandchildren, Lea Markin, Blake Markin, Korey Markin; great-grandchild, Jayden Brogdon; sisters, Mary Fisher and Wilma Taylor both of Lakeland, FL and Emily Watson of Jonesboro; several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Lilly Fry, Glennie Blanchard, Thelma Cooper and Jess Haney.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with military honors.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jagger Brogdon, Blake Markin, Korey Markin, Ross Adams, David Brogdon and Jayden Brogdon.

All attendees must wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines.
