Jonesboro- Lloyd Love Langford Jr., 83, passed from this life Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Flo \u0026 Phil Jones Hospice House.
He was born October 8, 1936 in Jonesboro. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Jonesboro, he was a graduate of Jonesboro High School, Arkansas State University and Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He was a member of the NEA, Arkansas and National boards of Embalmers and Funeral Directors and also a member of the NEA Funeral Directors for many years.
Lloyd started out with the family business when he was sixteen on the ambulance side of the business and worked his way up to the President of Langford's Funeral Service and was there till his health started to fail in 2011. He was a board member for LLJ and LLC Investments and was a member of the Rotary Club. He was a member of The Freedom Center Church, where he was an elder for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Janice Langford and a sister, Jan Kirkindall.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne Langford; two sons, Trey Langford of Little Rock and Matthew Cushing (Jan) of Whitehall; a daughter, Stacey Janda (Tim) of Arlington, TN; two sisters, his twin, Loretta Bookout of Jonesboro and Jean Langford of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Janda, Aaron Janda, Makayla Janda and Harleigh Jo Bean; great-grandchildren, Sophie Janda and Emma Janda.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until noon Friday, June 12, 2020 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A celebration of his life will be noon Friday, June 12, 2020 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Bill Barber officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
