IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lindell Leon
Stevens
February 23, 1943 – April 6, 2025
Jonesboro- Lindell Leon Stevens, 82, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2025.
He was born February 23, 1943 in Pine Bluff to the late Lindell and Ola Stevens. He was a graduate of Apostolic Bible Institute, St. Paul, Minnesota, and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He was a devoted husband to his beloved Barbara Ann, with whom he is now reunited in their Heavenly home. To his family and friends, he leaves a legacy of love, loyalty, kindness, selflessness, perseverance, contentment, humility, humor, and faithfulness. He also leaves precious poetry and writings that beautifully express his sense of wonder in God and creation and that display the depths of his soul. He must not be able to contain his awe in now seeing the beauty that is beyond human comprehension.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kevin and Susan Stevens of Coal Valley, Illinois, and Sandra and Vinodh Sunderaraj of Renton, Washington; sister Brenda Morse; four grandchildren, Josh, Nick, and Kyle Stevens and Rachel Sunderaraj; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Margaret (Donald) Butler and Jane McNeely.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 pm., Friday, April 11, 2025, in Nettleton Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Craighead Nursing Center for the love and care they provided to our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle over the last twenty-two months. He felt a sense of home and community there, and we are immensely grateful for it.
