Obituary

Jonesboro - Leona Painter, 84, entered into God's Heavenly Kingdom on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Leona was born May 5, 1934 in Dalton to the late Arvil and Martha Houston Blackwell. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She was well loved by everyone who knew her. God has broken our hearts that day just to prove to us, He only calls the best home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Painter Sr.; a son, Charles Painter Jr.; a sister, Sharon Hill and three brothers, Bobby Nimmo, Larry Nimmo and Billy Nimmo.

She is survived by her children, Jerry, Ronnie, Danny, Donna and Kathy; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bernice Chester, Mildred Duncan, Owetta Lewis and Mary Gregrey; two brothers, Curtis Nimmo and Alvin Nimmo.

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 pm, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hart officiating. Interment will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.

The visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are L.M. Duncan, Mike Belt, Michael Little, Toby Painter and Philip Painter.

Her endearing heart and hardworking hands are now at rest.
