Pocahontas - Lee Darnell Blaxton, 75, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born September 08, 1937 in Harrisburg, AR., to the late Ollie Lee and Mildred Blaxton. Mr. Blaxton was a butcher for Lady's Grocery in Harrisburg, AR., and later a salesman for Paul's Sausage, Sealtest Milk and Tom's. He retired in 1999 after almost 20 years with Lance, Inc., where he worked as the NL branch manager. He is also preceded in death by two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nettie Blaxton of the home, three sons; Daryl Lee (Patti) Blaxton of Pocahontas, Marcus Ray Blaxton of Arlington, TN., and John Phillip (Stephanie) Blaxton of Collierville, TN. Five grandchildren; Tyler Blaxton, Caitlin Blaxton, Madeline Blaxton, Emily Blaxton and Riley Blaxton, two brothers; Gerald Blaxton of Batesville and Cooper Blaxton of Champlin, MN., and one sister, Jane Catherine Rataj of Caruthersville, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Pocahontas that will go towards the Together We Build Fund or Current-Gaines Baptist Association for the Disaster Relief Unit.Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at The First Baptist Church in Pocahontas with Eric Moffett and Don Settles officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. also at the church. McNabb Funeral Home was in charge of making arrangements.
