Obituary

Lawson Dean Cagle passed peacefully at home in his momma’s arms, surrounded by his devoted father and best friend, Beaj on the evening of June 19, 2026. He was born on August 12, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Lawson is survived by his loving parents, Josh and Hannah Cagle of Pocahontas; his first friend, his sister, Eleanor Cagle, and little brother, Shad Cagle; his paternal grandparents, Danny and Sandy Cagle of Maynard and Carl and Tina Martin of Reyno; his maternal grandparents, Scott and Joniece Trammel of Pocahontas; his maternal great-grandparents, Dick and Nancy Trammel of Rogers and Connie Ellis of Knoxville, Tennessee; his uncle, Daniel Cagle; his aunts and uncles, Olivia (Zack) Pate, Rachel (Zack) Koons, and Tiffany Trammel (Jeffrey Erdelt Jr.). Paternal cousins, Talen Cagle, Landree Cagle, and Finlee Cagle. Maternal cousins Collin Koons, Myles Koons, Finton Koons, Olive Pate, Khloe Poling, and Kaden (K.B.) Erdelt.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, J.B. and Dean Cagle and Cicero and Shelby Jones, and his maternal great-grandparents, Fred Harold and Oleita Young.

Lawson found joy in life's simplest blessings - the things we most often take for granted. He was mesmerized by the glow of Christmas lights, comforted by the sound of music, and the gentleness of Winnie the Pooh. On the days he felt well, he enjoyed feeling the sunshine and fresh air. The sound of a familiar voice could instantly bring a smile to his face, especially from his sister. Lawson loved being held, talked to, and included in every moment. His smile was contagious—a smile that could light up an entire room, even in the darkest moments. In the rare times, when his eyes locked with yours, the whole world would stop. Lawson’s heart was pure. It knew no hatred, no judgment, no sin. An agape love was taught effortlessly through him.

Though Lawson faced challenges that most could never imagine, he met each day with a quiet strength that inspired everyone around him. Through his life, he touched countless hearts, not only through personal relationships but also through Lawson's Mustard Seed, a blog his momma lovingly began not long after his birth. Through its stories, triumphs, and trials, thousands followed Lawson's journey, prayed for him, celebrated with him, and came to know the extraordinary little boy behind the name. His life became a source of hope, inspiration, and faith for people far beyond the community he called home.

All services will be held at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 5-8 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11 AM with Kevin Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Sutton Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
