Obituary
Jonesboro- Lawrence "Joe" Oren Stallings, 79, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017.
He was born July 1, 1937 in Jonesboro to the late Lawrence and Dora Campbell Stallings. He served his country proudly and retired after 28 years from the United States Navy. He was a jet mechanic. Joe was a member of the First Christian Church of Jonesboro.
He was survived by his wife of sixty years, Billie Sue Stallings of the home; his children, Mark Stallings of Fayetteville, Marcia Pruitt (Alan) of Ormond Beach, FL and Mike Stallings (Sheila) of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ed Stallings; a sister, Catherine Cooksey; a great-grandchild, Levi Jase McKnight and a daughter-in-law, Diane Stallings.
A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
There will be no visitation.
His grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
